ClubGG is an online poker platform launched in 2021 by NSUS Group Inc. It was developed by GGPoker, a well-known real-money poker app, as a way to introduce the game to casual players through free-to-play options.

The platform enables you to play poker with your friends by creating your club with personalized games and tournaments, all free of charge. You can also compete in ring games and tournaments and vie for virtual rewards.

ClubGG is unavailable in the states of Georgia, Hawaii, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Washington. Players residing in eligible areas must be 18 years of age or older to register.

How ClubGG Works

ClubGG operates in a similar way to sweepstakes casinos, offering two separate virtual currencies: Play Chips, which are for entertainment only, and Live Dollars (L$), which can be exchanged for actual prizes. The conversion rate for L$ to USD is 1:1, and you need a minimum of 100 L$ to request a prize redemption. The installation file was slightly over 200 MB, and the setup was simple enough to complete in just a few minutes, allowing you to start playing and create your account.

Another notable distinction is that ClubGG is a subscription-based service. You can always access basic membership for free, which gives you the ability to create clubs, join existing ones, and play with friends.

However, if you want to participate in tournaments, take advantage of extra features, and unlock special game modes, you’ll need to subscribe to either the Standard membership, which costs $9.99 per month, or the Platinum membership, priced at $49.99 per month.

I was a bit surprised when I created my account and didn’t come across any sign-up bonuses, nor could I find any ongoing promotions for basic members. However, this is because as a basic member, you don’t really need any additional bonuses. This membership tier simply allows you to play with your friends, and you’ll receive free chips at the start of each game.

For those with Platinum membership, one of the key advantages is access to tiered loyalty bonuses. Additionally, all members, regardless of their subscription level, can grow their chip stack through the Invite & Earn referral system. By inviting friends to join, you become eligible for a special tournament with L$1,000 in prizes.

Bonuses aren’t the main focus of ClubGG’s reward system. By subscribing to a paid membership, you’ll gain access to loyalty bonuses and enjoy a 20% discount in the ClubGG Store. Additionally, the Invite & Earn tournaments provide a good opportunity to earn some Live Dollars by referring friends.

Beyond these options, the primary way to accumulate chips is by participating in games and tournaments, where you’ll earn them through gameplay.

ClubGG offers a variety of ways to play poker. As a basic member, you have the option to create your own poker club or join existing ones. You can set up No Limit Hold’em (NLH), Pot Limit Omaha (PLO), or Short Deck Hold’em (6+) games in different formats like ring games, SNGs, or tournaments. Additionally, you can customize table settings, such as the number of players, action time, time banks, and other parameters.

The tournament structure is designed to maintain a competitive environment and is divided into three stages. Stage 1 consists of hourly tournaments, where the top 20% of players earn tickets to move on to Stage 2. Stage 2, in turn, features a series of SNGs, with each tournament awarding a ticket to the Final Stage.

The Final Stage is the most competitive, with tournaments that range from the L$1,000 Monday Monster Stack PLOs to the ClubGG Masters, which take place on the last Sunday of each month and offer L$100,000 in guaranteed prizes. You can also find a schedule of real-money WSOP and other live tournaments in the Live Event tab, where you can qualify through ClubGG.

Both the ClubGG downloadable client and mobile app are very user-friendly. You can easily create your own club, sign up for a tournament, and request prize redemptions with just a few taps. The poker gameplay itself looks great, with sharp visuals and appealing sound effects. ClubGG’s only sister site is GGPoker, its real-money counterpart, as both belong to the same network. However, poker apps with sweepstakes features are relatively rare, so we don’t have much to compare ClubGG with in terms of subscription-based platforms.
The sweepstakes poker sites we’ve reviewed here at Sweep Casino USA include ClubWPT and Global Poker, though Global Poker differs from ClubGG in some ways. It doesn’t offer subscriptions but instead provides players with Gold Coins and tournament entries, along with redeemable Sweeps Coins.

Global Poker offers a standard bonus of 100,000 Gold Coins and 10 tournament entries, whereas ClubGG’s incentives are limited to loyalty bonuses available to Platinum members. Despite this, ClubGG’s tournament options are impressive, with the added benefit of qualifying for live events, which Global Poker doesn’t offer.

With ClubGG, you’re paying a monthly subscription, so there’s no additional rake. In contrast, Global Poker applies a fixed 5% rake across all blind levels for both Gold Coin and Sweeps Coin play.

Both platforms treat slots and other casino games as secondary offerings, but Global Poker currently has a slightly better selection.

How It Stacks Up

ClubGG is part of a growing trend of club-based poker apps, with competitors like PokerBros and PPPoker offering similar features. ClubGG is a free-to-play extension of GGPoker that stands out as a solid choice for both casual players and those with more competitive ambitions. The platform lets you create your own poker club to play with friends and even provides opportunities to qualify for WSOP live events, making it an appealing option for a variety of players.

While it doesn’t offer an abundance of bonuses like other sweepstakes platforms, ClubGG is an excellent way to hone your poker skills and take advantage of meaningful benefits through its two membership plans.

There’s room for improvement, particularly with customer support, but overall, ClubGG proves to be one of the top free-to-play poker platforms available to players in the US.
